Academic Orienteering

If you're entering Cal as a freshman, you must complete Academic Orienteering, the L&S advising tutorial, before coming to your CalSO orientation. This tutorial will prepare you to make the most of your time with advisers during your up-coming orientation. After completing the tutorial you'll have created a list of possible courses to enroll in during your TeleBEARS enrollment session.

(Those not completing this tutorial will be at a disadvantage during orientations, which may result in a delay in registering for first semester classes.)

UC Berkeley students must log on using CalNetID

For Academic Orienteering to work properly, it is important that you enable JavaScript and cookies on your browser.

Don't let those Nobel Prize-winning professors sit alone in their offices waiting for someone to talk to. Be sure to do the reading for your classes ahead of time, come to class with questions to ask, sit up front, and go to office hours. You've come to Cal for the best education available - make the most of it!
