Welcome to the College of Letters and Science!

The Office of Undergraduate Advising can help you make sure all degree requirements are complete, your academic plan is balanced and manageable, and you explore enrichment opportunities. To help with your transition to UC Berkeley, it is vital that you participate in both online and in-person orientation. Please follow this checklist to prepare for orientation.

Checklist:

1. Register for in-person orientation, Cal Student Orientation (CalSO)
   
   If you are unable to attend CalSO, please see What do Do if You Cannot attend CalSO for additional resources.
   
   
2. Complete online orientation, Academic Orienteering (AO), before you arrive on campus.


3. Bring the following documents to CalSO:
   • Print-out from Academic Orienteering (you will find this at the end of AO)
   • Advising Handouts
   • Student Group Advising Documents (PDF) from your area of interest:
     • Pre Science
     • Humanities/Social Science
     • Pre Haas/Econ
     • Pre Health
     • Undecided


4. Become familiar with the following links:
